about this course

Introduction

The purpose of this course is to develop mathematical knowledge as a key life skill, and as a strong base for the children preparing for high school. The course begins with the learning of basic mathematics, advancing them to a level where students are able to grasp more complex concepts.

Program's focal point is to:

  • Develop concepts of Arithmetic regarding number system, multiples, factors, primes, ratio rate, percentages among many other topics.

  • Cover topics of basic algebra and Algebraic Manipulation.

  • Make the course interesting and knowledgeable by adding basic geometry and concepts of area and perimeter of plane surfaces.

  • Help students find the connections between different areas of math so that they can appreciate the interconnected nature of different math topics.

Who should attend?

  • Students of the age group between 10 to 14

  • Students who wish to have good command on British/American Math curriculum

  • Students studying PYP math and wish to build strong math base for MYP

  • Students who find Math mysterious and boring

Course Objectives

  • Acquaint the students with three different branches of Math i.e. Arithmetic, Algebra and Geometry.

  • Make students practice mathematical problem to achieve firm grasp over the complicated problems.

  • Enhance creative and deductive thinking skills.

  • Capture the interest of the students in math and making it a hobby.

  • Ensure students have fun while learning about math challenging their brains at the same time.

  • Identify high-ability students who have natural aptitude towards math and can pursue math as a profession.
